The North London Nanny Agency is run by Helen Lock, an NNEB trained nanny, mother and expert in all nanny/home childcare related areas.
We have been placing nannies, Maternity Nurses, Mother’s helps, Night Nannies and Nanny/Housekeepers for many years.

Types of childcare
Nannies have chosen childcare as a career and should offer you high quality, professional childcare.
A nanny will be capable of sole charge and will be either daily or live in. A nanny will be involved with every aspect of your child’s care, from organising leisure activities, cooking healthy meals to keeping toys clean and tidy.
Many of our nannies are drivers and all will hold a current DBS and paediatric first aid certificates.
Please expect to pay between £12 and £14 net per hour for an experienced nanny if daily.
If live in then an experienced nanny will be looking to earn in the region of £400-550 net per week.
Hours for each job vary widely, although typically between 3 and 12 hours per day.
A mother’s/parent’s help can be either daily or live in and the hours are roughly that of a nanny’s.
Please expect to pay between £11 and £13 net per hour for a daily mother’s help and around £300-£350 net per week for a live in.
They will also help establish a routine and create a calm atmosphere for the family. Every situation is very different to the next and a maternity nurse will offer as much hands on help that is needed.
A maternity nurse will usually work 24/5 or 24/6.
They will usually be given around 4 hours’ free per 24 hours, in order to cathch up on sleep.
Please expect to pay between £220 and £300 per 24 hours.
A night nanny will have similar experience to a maternity nurse, and will work with a family to ensure that parents get much needed sleep, plus help get baby into a routine, help with feeding and any baby related issues.
Please expect to pay between £15 and £20 per hour for an experienced night nanny.
Duties can vary from job to job, however the usual duties can include cooking, housework, shopping and organising/household management.
They can be live in or live out and salaries vary between £13 and £15 net an hour for daily and £400 to £600 net per week for live in.
